Material Information:
- MDF: Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) is a wood product. It is made using resins (glues) to bond wood fibers, which are compressed with heated presses. It is denser than chipboard and durable. It also does not absorb moisture.
- PP: Polypropylene (PP) is a thermoplastic material widely used due to its excellent properties. Although it is lightweight, it has high impact resistance, making it suitable for applications requiring durability against impacts and abrasion. It retains its properties even in high humidity environments.
- Metal: Metal is widely used in furniture construction, offering a range of advantages over other materials. It is highly durable, ideal for furniture intended for daily use in demanding environments. It maintains its shape and structure perfectly, ensuring stability and longevity. In addition to the mentioned properties, metal can have other characteristics such as antimicrobial action (copper) or superconductivity (lead).
Material Maintenance Instructions:
- MDF: To clean MDF, use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. For stains, use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and mild soap. Gently wipe the surface until the stain is removed. Finally, wipe the surface with a dry cloth. MDF is sensitive to moisture, so it is important to protect it from moisture. Wipe off any spills immediately. Do not use strong cleaners or chemicals, as they may damage MDF.
- PP: For daily cleaning of polypropylene, use a soft cloth or sponge lightly dampened with mild detergent and warm water. Apply the cloth to the surface and clean with light pressure.
- Metal: For any indoor metal furniture, dusting or cleaning with a damp cloth at regular intervals is appropriate. However, if you have outdoor metal furniture, follow these steps:
- For longer protection, apply a protective cream to your metal furniture, which can be easily obtained from retail stores.
- If your furniture is coated and painted with powder coating (electrostatic paint), it is very durable and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth.
- If your metal furniture does not have electrostatic paint, you need to be more careful and keep it away from water and moisture. You can cover it with special covers and, if possible, store it indoors during winter.
- If you notice rust, remove it with solvent and then apply anti-rust varnish before painting the surface with oxidation-resistant paint.
